Born 1954, in Konya. He is a graduate of Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts (IDGSA) School of Applied Industrial Arts (UESYO) Graphic Design department. As a student he worked at Istanbul Reklam as animation artist. He had been a teaching assistant at his department however he resigned when the law of the Council of Higher Education was issued. Subsequently he worked at the private sector, designing book covers and doing illustrations for publishers and drawing cartoons for daily newspapers.
He was the founder, partner and creative director of Yorum, Markom, Reklamcılık Klan and Euro RSCG respectively. Since 1980 he has been active in design, in animated film and contemporary arts. His cartoon album "Karakatür" was published by Metis Publishing House. He served as a board member and president in Association of Animation Filmmakers and Turkish Society of Graphic Designers.
He won numerous awards in national and international competitions and acted as a juror at several others. His works were exhibited widely and are included in the collections of museums in Canada, France, Switzerland, Korea, Czech Republic, Germany and Iran. As a contemporary artist he had 12 solo exhibitions in Turkey and abroad and participated in several group shows.
He is represented exclusively by the Gallery Apel (Istanbul).
In 2005 he has co-established with Prof. Ayşegül İzer the Emre Senan Design Foundation and initiated Yahşibey Design Workshops, which is a not-for-profit project developed for international students. In 2007 he left advertising and started his own design and consultancy studio. He teaches at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Faculty of Fine Arts Graphics Department and manages the foundation he has founded. Father of two.
