Born in Switzerland, Gözde Oral spent most of her youth in the USA and Canada. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design from Bilkent University in 1990. Granted a Fulbright Scholarship, she studied at Pratt Institute of Art and Design in New York and earned an MS in Communication Design in 1993. After returning to Turkey she entered advertising as a graphic designer. Until 2000 she worked at Young&Rubicam;/Reklamevi as an art director, contributing to a wide range of campaigns and projects for both national and international brands. Her work has recieved numerous awards in advertising and design competitions along with the Cannes Young Creatives Competition in 1997. Having established her own graphic design and consultancy practice, Birebir Tasarım Çözümleri Ltd. in 2006, she collaborates with individuals and companies alike with a main focus on contributing to social, cultural and art related projects.
